About Jane Ellen HanksJane Ellen epitomizes integrity, energy, hard work, and creative service in every detail of your real estate transaction. Jane Ellen is a third generation Athenian whose love of houses started at a young age when she would open the Sunday paper and plan open houses to attend with her father. Jane Ellen grew up in the in town neighborhood of Historic Cobbham which fueled her love of history and architecture. She has seen Athens grow and change yet retain the small town feeling that is cherished by so many including herself. She graduated Clarke Central High School and continued her education at the University of Georgia where she finished with a degree in Early Childhood Education. For the past 13 years she has taught in the Clarke County School District. As the elementary Adaptive PE teacher she travels to 8 elementary schools and one middle school giving her a wide knowledge and local experience with the schools in the community. Jane Ellen began her real estate career in 2013. She has worked many aspects of the industry representing sellers and buyers in the residential market. She has continued to rank in the top 20% of local agents while continuing to teach part-time.
When it came time for Jane Ellen to purchase her first home she chose the Homewood Hills neighborhood. Homewood Hills couldn’t have been a more perfect fit for the local and outdoor enthusiast. Jane Ellen loves being five minutes to downtown Athens and a short drive to Sandy Creek Park- one of Athens best assets in her opinion. Jane Ellen loves taking her dogs to play in the local dog parks, walking on the nature trails, and playing disc golf.
